The Kalinga Warriors return to #AFCCup action after the October international break as they host Maziya S & RC in Bhubaneswar for a 17:30 IST kick-off.

Odisha FC went into a recent pause to the domestic season after suffering a narrow loss against FC Goa at the Fatorda. Mourtada's brace wasn't enough to see Sergio's men secure all three points in Goa.

 

Sergio Lobera's side will be aiming at a return to winning ways against the team from Maldives ahead of another busy period. Odisha will travel to Kochi immediately after today's game for their away fixture against Kerala Blasters FC on the 27th of this month.

Sergio and Carlos attended the pre-match press conference to face the media yesterday in Bhubaneswar. The Odisha boss provided updates on the squad and dissected today's game.

Mourtada opened his Odisha FC account against FC Goa scoring twice from the corner to which Sergio said that the Senegalese is an integral part of the squad and hopes that the center-back can replicate the same performance at home tonight.

"They are a very good team, quite balanced in my opinion. We are wary of the threats that Maziya can present but we are ready to fight for all three points. 

Maziya likes to keep the ball more. It is very important that we neutralize their ability to do that. We have seen that they tend to suffer when they are not in possession." said the experienced tactician.

The visitors are coming into this game after losing out to Mohun Bagan Super Giant in Kolkata. Sergio Lobera and his team are clear about their objectives for tonight and the rest of the group stage.
