During the Jatra, the rule of Kansa and Leela of Lord Krishna is enacted at several places in Mathura and Gopapura in Bargarh.

Approximately thousands of residents are taking part in this entire drama. Along with maintaining the culture the festival also provides opportunities to local artists, creates women empowerment, and provides a platform for those from outside the region to showcase their talent.
