Sergio and Des settle for a point each at the Kalinga. Jerry and Roy shine for the Kalinga Warriors.

A highly anticipated encounter was on the cards as Sergio Lobera faced his former side Mumbai City FC at the Kalinga Stadium. Jerry kept his cool to capitalize on a goalkeeper error and hand the hosts the lead right at the end of the first half.

Come the second half, MCFC restored parity as Greg Stewart found Rostyn Griffiths at the end of a corner who headed the ball past Amrinder completely unmarked.

Later in the second half, Diego was subbed off and Sergio deployed Roy to take control of things further up the pitch. Jahouh's attempt to find Roy from a dead ball saw the Mumbai City FC keeper take Krishna down inside the box.

After much deliberation, the referee pointed towards the spot. Roy stepped up and made sure that he sent the keeper the wrong way handing the Kalinga Warriors the lead for the second time.

In the 88th minute, the Islanders broke on the counter, and Vikram Pratap delivered the goods to find Jorge at the end of a lateral cross who put it past Amrinder leaving him with no chance.

UP NEXT:

Odisha FC travel to Bangladesh for their AFC Cup game against Basundhara Kings on the 2nd of October while Mumbai City FC will travel to Uzbekistan to face PFC Navbahor in the AFC Champions League on the 3rd of October.
