The Juggernauts began their campaign with an impressive victory against CRPF FC in which they scored half a dozen goals keeping a clean sheet. Grace, Cynthia, Faustina, Lynda, Bala, and Jasoda all found the back of the net. Cynthia provided the assist for the first goal, while Faustina scored off a ball that fell on her way ricocheting off Bala, and Lynda tapped in a fourth after Cynthia’s run down the right wing found her with a dink over the onrushing defender. Captain Bala found the net with a magnificently looped ball over the goalkeeper, and Jasoda wrapped up the proceedings after great wing play from Faustina to set her up assisted by a dummy from Bala in the box. The Eastern Dragons dominated the game and continued to assert their influence until the final whistle.
On the other hand, Kickstart FC suffered a narrow defeat to Eastern Sporting Union in their opening match of the Hero IWL. However, the Karnataka team is coming into the tournament campaign after a dominant performance in the Karnataka Women's League. Captained by India international Dalima Chhibber, the team will be determined to bounce back from their defeat and put up a strong performance.
The match promises to be an exciting clash between two strong teams. Odisha FC will look to continue their attacking form, while Kickstart FC will aim to put up a resilient defense and capitalize on their chances.
