My Love for Football Part 2 ft. Victor Mongil

With experience of playing in the European leagues and already having won the Hero ISL trophy, 29-year-old defender Victor Mongil has come to India again with new aspirations ahead of the upcoming season. The OFC Media Team caught up with the Spaniard to know more about his love for the sport. Here are the excerpts:
Love for football
Victor: My family is a sports-loving and above all a soccer-loving family. Ever since I was a child, I was able to practice football and in the end, I conquered myself and I have been able to fulfill my dreams and experience wonderful things on the football field. I started playing football when I was 5-6 years old.
Childhood role model
Victor: For me because of my closeness, my uncle – Miguel Angel Mongil and my father – Fernando Mongil have always been my references. They both played soccer. My uncle was my father's coach, and later my father was my coach until I was 12 years old. When I was more aware of football and knew how to interpret it, I have had professional references during my career.
Biggest inspiration
Victor: My greatest inspiration in life has always been to be happy doing what I do. I feel privileged to be able to live and enjoy football, which is what I am passionate about as a professional, I can count on my girlfriend and we support each other in everything. We enjoy, we suffer and achieve dreams and goals together. This is something that we all dream of.
Other Sports he follows
Victor: I consider myself a sports lover. I can watch a lot of football, but I get together with friends to watch Formula 1, MotoGP, tennis matches, basketball among others. I have always had an athletic atmosphere and I thank my best friends as they are the same and we can share those moments together.
Aim and aspirations
Victor: I want to continue being happy and being able to continue doing incredible things like winning more titles. I aim to tell more experiences and being able to have a family soon as well.
The biggest moment of his career so far
Victor: I have had great moments in my career and it would be impossible for me to only stay with one. Since my debut, time with the Spanish national team, promoting my city club Real Valladolid to the first division, winning titles with Dinamo Tbilisi and ATK, and playing the UEFA Europa League with Dinamo Tbilisi. They are unique and incredible moments that I never thought I could live them. Now, I have to be able to live an incredible year in Odisha and continue to add trophies in my career.
